Teaching

I think of myself as a researcher and a successful instructor at all levels of the lower-division program, with a heavy emphasis on incorporationg new technologies.  I have several successful ways to teach without making students uncomfortable.  when I teach in Spanish, I make sure that my students understand everything I say.  My teaching is effective because it gets students excited about what they are learning.  I constantly strive to improve my teaching and to offer students a better learning experience through self-evaluation, paying close attention to students’ comments and learning outcomes, reading about teaching and, of course, learning from my own mistakes.  Organization and enthusiasm during my teaching are the keys to getting all my work done.  I believe I have the ability to relate to many different types of individuals and I hav a curiosity for my profession.  I enjoy being a “tourist guide” for all my students so that they enjoy being an interactive passenger on their journey with the Spanish language.
